I am Laurie Grace Wood, the Founder, Director, Choreographer, and Instructor for Boogie Shoes Dance.

Boogie Shoes Ageless & Adult Dance Program offers daytime classes in Jazz Dance (as well as in Tap, Ballet, and Pilates as the program grows). In Jazz class we will learn the basics of broadway, musical theatre, modern, and lyrical dance styles along with choreographed dances that everyone can accomplish and enjoy.

We have occasional Informal Dance Showings & Ageless Celebrations for those who love to perform and display our artwork & crafts for our community to enjoy and to purchase. Broomfield showings are held at the Crescent Grange and Estes Park showings are held at the Senior Center. PERFORMING IS OPTIONAL. But it's a blast!

Our Motto is - YOU’RE NEVER TOO OLD TO DANCE FOR JOY!  If you can move your body, then you can dance! 

There are so many physical, mental, and emotional benefits to dance! Dance improves posture, balance, flexibility, strength, memory, focus, and coordination. Dance also improves rhythm, gracefulness, self-expression, confidence, and vitality. Dance can lighten depression, loneliness, and anxiety, and help us feel more connected to our true spirit. 

Many of our students are fulfilling childhood dreams of wanting to dance, some trained in dance for a while but didn’t continue, and others just want to move and exercise to have fun. It's never too late to start dancing!

In dance class, we will meet the smiling faces of new friends and a new circle of support. We get lost in the dance and music and take a break from the stresses and worries of life. Dance helps us stay young and optimistic. It's great for the mind, body, and soul!

Most importantly, we don't take ourselves too seriously. It's all about the joy of dancing! It's not about perfection, we are long past that in our lives! We laugh a lot and we applaud ourselves for the smallest of victories!
